The Journey on Earth to the Self.
November 2022 took me on a 15 day exploration through the lands we call Colombia. I was brought there randomly, without Colombia even being on the mental list constantly running through my mind of the top places on Earth I want to visit. A list that is fluid, and ever changing as I grow through life and my curiosities are sparked in learning something of a culture, or a history, or a magical place. With spontaneity and a flexible plan in hand, on November 15, my kids safe with their dad for the next 15 days, I boarded a plane to Medellin.
This trek through Colombia, with who soon became one of my favorite companions, doubled as a personal journey within. It's often said that, sometimes we cannot see our position clearly when we are in the thick of it, but it's when we turn back to reflect that we get the whole view. When stories have been given the time to be played out and when emotions settle after running wild, reflection can really set in.
But, on the contrary, sometimes we find ourselves in a place where every moment is in complete awareness, and reflections are happening simultaneously to our new experiences… This is what international travel is like. A call for complete awareness in the present moment. When we add in the simultaneous reflection, the nightly journaling, and the travel companion that you can be open and honest with in deep conversations, this quite easily becomes a journey within that will move you more than you ever expected.
The linked podcast episode here is a glimpse into that reflection that myself and Sophia shared during the trip and after. In this episode, you will hear about the intentions, planning, and trust between one another to make this trip, not just a success, but everything that it was for us! What you will not see are all the moments of space held for each other, the laughter, the sweat, the pain, the support, the journaling for hours on end, and so much more. But hopefully, at the end you will feel our deep love for humanity and each other through this share. Coming together on Sophia’s podcast “Connecting Through Spirit”, was such a treat in reliving this experience.
Going to Colombia, walking that part of this Earth, feeling the energy, and letting my spirit connect, is an experience I will forever hold in my heart for safe keeping. It will forever be a source of light on my reflections.
